Why is so much of New Testament doctrine revealed through the use of occasional letters ?

instead of in systematic books written, authorized, and canonized specifically to define Christian doctrine

Why didn’t God deliver these himself, as he did the Law to Moses?
Maybe this explains why the Old Testament Law has more clarity than the New Testament doctrines. Why did God leave the writing of systematic theologies to modern, uninspired writers, who cannot agree with one another?

It’s all made up, or down, on how you look at.

the letters were written write the churches when they were written paul did not know they would be made into a bible.

Legalism was the bane of the Old Testament.

Islam’s taken up with it too. For instance, only Islam would get caught up with questions like this…
Is it permissible for a man to urinate standing up…?.

Finally, you say that they’re ‘modern’ and ‘uninspired’

You’re wrong in the sense that you ignore 2,000 years of Christian writers from Ignatius of Antioch, onwards

The New Testament is the inspired word of GOD. Everyone one who sees a show do not tell it the same way. They all agree but in different ways if you can understand that.

The letters of Paul were addressing questions and situations of that time. Yahoo answers are here for you but I hardly think that you will do as well here as you would praying and searching the word of Truth with the Holy Spirit as your revealer of Truth. Paul went away for three years to re-evaluate his understandings of the Word, questioning all his Jewish teachers had said about the word of God, after he met Jesus on the road to Damascus.
The LORD Jesus explained to his disciples that it was for them to know the things of God but that it was hidden from others. We have no need that any man teach us if we are being taught by God. God reveals to each individual the things that he is ready to learn. Pride must defeated in a person’s life to be able to handle the weightier things of the Kingdom. I tell you there is more revelation and rewards for the obedient and for the humble. The Holy Spirit will guide you into all Truth if you will surrender to the guide.

The New Testament is perfectly clear to me.

Perhaps you do not have the Spirit of Christ?

“The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
    I Corinthians 2:14

    Understanding comes through Jesus Christ.

“…in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
    Colossians 2:2-3
