Now that we have determined that the New testament begins with Matt. In Matt7:21 what is The Fathers will?
by admin ~ May 12th, 2008 . Filed under: Religion & Spirituality .21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Did Father God have a will and what is it?
1 John 5
1Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
1 Peter 2:15
15For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
1 Thessalonians
4: 2For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
3For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
1 Thessalonians 5:18
18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you

The Father’s will is believing in Jesus alone for salvation, without adding any of your own works (John 6:29).

The New Covenant began on the day of Pentecost.
The New Covenatnt was prophesied in the Old Covenant times.
Jer 31:31-34 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant … this shall be the covenant that I will make …I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people…. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Under the New Covenant we recieve the Spirit as the prophet Joel also prophesied would happen in th New Covenant. (Joel 2:27-32)
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Now, it is certainly true that we do have to repent and remain in obedience to God.

Yes Father God has a will, Christ’s will is in harmony with that will. (otherwise we would refer to them as gods instead of god because they would be of a different mind regarding man.) Thus we can do the Father’s will by having faith in Christ and obeying His commandments and teachings.

The fact that it is the Creator’s will for the earth to stay in existence for eternity and remain inhabited can be proved from the prayer of the Lord Jesus Christ to God the Creator: “Your kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as well as in heaven!” How so? Let us read on.
Manifestly, God’s kingdom comes to earth and his will is then done on earth because it is his purpose for the earth to remain forever as part of the universal realm over which he is the King of eternity, the Most High Sovereign. God’s will being done here under his kingdom will make a delightful change on this earth. Why then destroy this territory of his kingdom? Why remove the people doing God’s will on earth from this territory of his kingdom? That is not what God will do, for he inspired wise King Solomon of old to write this proverb: “In the multitude of people there is an adornment of a king, but in the lack of population is the ruin of a high official.” (Prov. 14:28) It was because the first man did not keep on doing the will of his Creator that God sentenced him to die and return to the dust of the earth. (Gen. 3:17-19) When God’s will is done by the people on earth under God’s kingdom, he will give them the right to eternal life on this territory of his kingdom realm. For the sake of this he will preserve this earth to his everlasting glory as its Creator.
Christendom, however, will argue through its priests and clergymen that the coming of Christianity changed matters for the earth. But how could that be so? Jehovah God used Jesus Christ as the very Leader in Christianity, and it was this Leader of Christianity himself that gave us the prayer for God’s kingdom to come and for God’s will to be done on earth as well as in heaven!
The Leader of Christianity could not be wrong in what he taught about the earth. He was not wrong. Holy men of God, who were borne along by God’s spirit in order to speak and write prophecy before Christ’s day had no hope or desire to go to heaven’s unknown realm. In fact, they had no invitation from God to go to heaven, nor was the way then open for men to go to heaven. They did not expect, when they died, to go to heaven. They did not look forward to the total destruction of this earth and its moon in a universal conflagration. True, they expected a future life, but not a future life in heaven. Their hope was to return from the dead to a renewed life on this earth, but then when God rules over the Middle East and over all the rest of the earth.
The coming of Jesus Christ to earth did not prove that their hope was a mistaken one. His coming did not change the future for them and open the way to heaven for them. Long after Abraham, Isaac, Jacob (Israel), Moses, King David, the prophet Isaiah and even the prophet Malachi died, Jesus Christ the Son of God came down from heaven to earth in a miraculous way. He did not say that those holy men of old were up in heaven when he left. Jesus, as the Son of man on earth, said to a Jewish ruler: “No man has ascended into heaven but he that descended from heaven, the Son of man.” (John 3:13) When the Baptizer, John the son of Zechariah, was in prison and soon to have his head chopped off, Jesus said: “Among those born of women there has not been raised up a greater than John the Baptist; but a person that is a lesser one in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he is.” (Matt. 11:11) After Jesus himself was put to death on a torture stake but was resurrected from the dead on the third day and later went back to heaven to his Father, the apostle Peter preached to over three thousand Jews and said that the resurrected Jesus was in heaven but King David was not up there.
Said Peter: “It is allowable to speak with freeness of speech to you concerning the family head David, that he both deceased and was buried and his tomb is among us to this day. Actually David did not ascend to the heavens, but he himself says, ‘Jehovah said to my Lord [that is, to Jesus Christ], “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies a stool for your feet.”’” (Acts 2:29, 34, 35) Those dead men like David still wait for God’s kingdom to come.
Jesus spoke of himself as going to heaven because he had come down from there only for thirty-three years and a half. He spoke of his congregation of faithful followers, those pictured by the twenty-four “elders” in the Revelation to John, as invited to go to heaven to be with him. To these he gave instructions to prepare them to go to heaven. But this did not mean that Jesus Christ had changed God’s original purpose concerning humankind as a whole.
Jesus did not open the way for all the God-fearing ones of mankind to go to heaven. For the sake of humankind in general, he prayed for God’s kingdom to come to the earth where dead humankind lies buried and for the heavenly Life-giver’s will to be done on earth as well as in heaven. Will King David and John the Baptist want to do God’s will on earth under His kingdom? Certainly. Hence confused m

Not sure where your going with this. Perhaps these will help…
Romans 12:1-2
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
1 Thessalonians 4:1-8
1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
6 That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
Hope these help.

Jesus is addressing the Jewish people. Some were already calling Him Lord, but they would later refuse to accept His work of the cross. They insisted that the only way to get into heaven was by following Jewish regulations such as Sabbath observations, circumcision, and dietary regulations.
Later Jesus said, “For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.”
The point is that it is possible to speak of Jesus as Lord, but never actually receive Him to yourself as the completer of your salvation. There are people who claim to accept Jesus as savior, but actually depend on their own human effort to enter heaven. These people will face judgment.
In 1 John 5:13 the apostle says, “These things have I written unto you…that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” Clearly, we need to have assurance of our salvation and we won’t get that assurance by depending on human effort. If you have to follow the Old Testament regulations after you are saved in order to keep your salvation then you are working your way to heaven. If you perform good words as a natural consequence (fruit of salvation), then it is the blood of Jesus that is getting you there.

Very Very Good Question.
Looks like we have God’s will is to believe only. and nothing else is God”s will. And if by chance you do something will it then it is salvation by works. And if you do all kinds of bad stuff that is acceptable to Gods will. Very odd.
Very interesting. Sure seems we have a problem
and we have the others that say
That there is more to salvation then just believing.
Do you remember Jesus said Matt 12:50 “For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother and sister, and mother.”
Do you know that Jesus stretched out his hand toward his disciples, and said Behold my mother and my brethren!
Don’t you think that Judas was in that group?
Judas Iscariot was a disciple of Jesus Christ For AWHILE. Judas was in the will of the Father for AWHILE. In Fact Jesus on several occasions declared that the disciples father was Jesus’ Father. Judas Iscariot was a believer and in the family of God. Yet Judas FELL by transgression murdered himself cast out of the vine (Jesus Christ) John 15
So evidently it is more then believing that gets you final Salvation.
It is Called obeying, abiding, overcoming, remaining steadfast, holding on, REPENTING, turning from all of your sins.
OSAS doctrine contradicts Matthew 7:21
My Vote is obeying the word of God which is the will of God.

Promise of Peace
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. Isa. 26:3, 4.
Do not dishonor Jesus by doubting His precious promises. He wants us to believe in Him with unwavering faith. There is a class who say, “I believe, I believe,” and claim all the promises which are given on condition of obedience. While they claim everything in the promises of God, they do not the works of Christ. God is not honored by any such faith, it is a spurious faith. Then we see a people trying to keep all of God’s commandments, but there are many of these who do not come up to their exalted privileges and claim nothing. God’s promises are to those who keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
The Lord is coming. Look up and rejoice, for your redemption draweth nigh. I see in Jesus a compassionate, loving Redeemer, One who can save to the uttermost all who come unto Him. Bear your whole weight on the promises of God. Believe it is your privilege to believe.

His will is to carry out the written Torah “Law” given through His servant Moses.
John 7:19 “Did not Moses give you the Law (Torah), and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why do you seek to kill Me?”
In the parable of the two sons, which one did the will of his father?
The son that said he would not keep the commandments (Torah) then repented and actually kept them. Or the son that said he is keeping the commandments and did not keep them at all, even saying they are “done away with”:
Mat 21:28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
Mat 21:29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
Mat 21:30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
Mat 21:31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father?
John 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature; for he is a liar, and the father of lies.
John 8:45 “But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me.
John 8:46 “Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me?
John 8:47 “He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.”
> They would not hear the Truth in the Torah words of God:
Psa 119:29 Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law (Torah) graciously.
Psa 119:142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Thy law (Torah) is truth.
Psa 119:151 Thou art near, O LORD, And all Thy commandments are truth.
