How important do you find it to follow the commandments of the old testament ?

In the 10 commandments it says to Remember the Sabbath and to keep it holy. Exodus 20: 8
In the 10 commandments it says to Remember the Sabbath and to keep it holy. Exodus 20: 8
Why would God have changed the sabbath?
And if that is not an official commandment why is the 10 commandments shared from the old testament?
Is the Sabbath now officially on the Lord’s Day now?
What does this mean for the Sabbath saturday?
Is it no longer important although God expressed the importance of this day and told people always to remember it?

Romans and Colossians say to not keep any sabbath.

Kind of. Jesus gave us a new commandment that took all the Old Testament laws and summed them up in one: Love God and each other.
I follow Jesus as a Chrisitian. So when I do my best to love, I know I am de facto following anything important about the old law.

Well considering the new one was put together by a king who wanted a divorce…

Not at all.

The decision tree for that looks like:
Does the commandment effect me?
Y - well, the commandment is not important then (for example not to cut your hair or not to eat pork or shellfish)
N - the commandment is a corner stone of all things important… so we can’t allow *** marriage

The Sabbath is a holy day, 1 of 7 days to set in dedication to the Lord. He has not changed His commands.
Man, however, has placed the Sabbath on Sunday, Saturday, perhaps even Friday. It matters not; the principle is that the firstfruits of our labor, the Sabbath, are dedicated to Him.

It’s because men wrote the bible, and not a God. That’s why it’s full of inconsistencies, contradictions and mistakes.
If you actually followed the teachings of the old testament, you’d end up in prison.

Is the Old Testament still in
force? -
Pro 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5 :18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Deu 5 : 2 The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
Deu 5:3 The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.
Jer 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
Jer 18:15 Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up;
Mal 4:4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
Luk 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. (THIS WAS SAID IN THE NEW TESTAMENT!!!)
Luk 16:18 Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.
Joh 7:19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
Rom 7: 7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
2 Kin 17:13 Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
2 Kin 17:14 Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.
2 Kin 17:15 And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
2 Kin 17:16 And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
2 Kin 17:17 And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, (walk on coals) and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
2 Kin 17:18 Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
2 Kin 17:19 Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
2 Kin 17:20 And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
Deu 28:58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;
Deu 28:59 Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
Deu 28:60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
Deu 28:61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
Deu 28:62 And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God.
Deu 28: 63 And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it. (Rhodesië, Zambië, Congo, South Africa, Lorenzo Marques, Namibia, etc etc)
Deu 6:6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Deu 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou

The Koran re-states the 10 Commandments in greater detail and clarity.
If we all had a day of rest we would be degrading the environment at a slower rate.
Made sense then, makes sense now!

I think that the 10 commandments are good to live by, but we as Christians are not under the law. Our sins have been forgiven by the work of Christ on the cross. But, to answer your questions:
1) God did not change the Sabbath day.
2) Not sure that I understand this question.
3) The Sabbath day is and has always been on the last day of the week, our Saturday. We as Christians worship on Sunday because that is a NT principle. We worship on the first day of the week.
4) For Christians, the Sabbath Saturday means nothing. It was only for the Jews to follow, because they were under OT law.
5) He told His people, the Jews, to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy, but Christians, as I said before are not under OT law, because we have been forgiven. Christ was our sacrifice.

It’s not important to me at all. I don’t believe in any of it. They were inventions, a fable, and this god bloke, along with the jesus guy, the so called allah, mohammed etc never existed. They didn’t, they don’t and they never will. Just invented story telling and nothing more.

Jesus gave a new commandment to cover all the 10 commandments , love.
It was obvious mankind where unable to stick to the old laws & Jesus done away with the kill an animal to pay for my sins .
If we have to go back to keeping the sabbath would that not mean we should go back to animal sacrifices too ?

I’m not sure I understand your questions? The Sabbath is Sunday. A week originally started on Monday, because it is the first day of work. We start our “Work week” on Monday, but our week officially starts on Monday, not Sunday. Sunday was and still is said to be the day of rest. It is the Lord’s day because it officially Ends the Week. However, I will say that most people nowadays don’t follow that commandment because we still do things on Sundays when it is said we shouldn’t. People have forgotten the true meaning of life, because they work on Sundays for money. That is the breaking of the Second commandment, “Thou shalt not create unto themselves any graven image.” We look to money with Greed and Hunger when we should Hunger for God. He is our provider, without him, there is no food, shelter, clothing, or anything else for that matter. With the wave of his hand, he can take that away.
We can’t go a day without sin, and it’s frustrating, because we live on it. But the Sabbath is Sunday, because that is the day God rested. It is the END of the week.
I hope I helped!

On a scale of 1 to 10? Zero. We have a constitution and laws in this country precisely because religious rules are archaic, vague, erroneous, and meaningless.

Because Christ came and freed us from the law, we no longer have to follow the law as an exact thing. We still use the law as a guide, a fence, and a mirror, but not as something that tells us whether God loves us or not, whether we will be condemned or not.
We use Sunday as a means of remembering and rejoicing in the resurrection EVERY Sunday. That is now the day that we remember and hold important.
Now, we do use the Law as a guide… should we keep the Sabbath holy. Well.. I’m not keeping the Sabbath holy, but my day of worship is Sunday and I do keep that day for worship… that is the first priority of each and every Sunday.

Mar 2:27 And he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
In addition the Sabbath is simply a day of rest and means that man should rest from his labor, one day in seven, or every seventh day.
It is the traditions of men which make it a Saturday, the actual commandment did not specify which day of the week as far as I know.
Remembering it and keeping it holy means to hold it “Worthy of respect or dedication” (hold it sacred).
Jesus did not eliminate any of the 10 commandments, He simplified most of them into the two most important ones a) Love God b) Love your neighbor, but didn’t say that these were the ONLY commandments.

The commandments were given to the Jewish nation. Not to others. Jesus’ death was the end of those laws. Two replaced them. To love Jehovah with all your heart, soul and mind and to love your neighbor as yourself. These were given to all people. It is important to set aside one day a week to read the Bible and meditate on what you read. To give honor to God. It does not matter which day. Our religion uses Sunday because the majority of us do not work on Sunday.

Christians are not a party to that old covenant; Christians are party to the new covenant, and the old covenant ended. With it went the requirements found therein.
You cannot be held accountable to the conditions of a covenant you were never a party to.
