Donate Life asked:

As far as Obama has come is a testament to how far this nation has come. Unfortunately there still seems to be just enough people who will hold his race against him to keep him from making the final step. Do you agree?

  • Centauri:

The majority will, it was never an issue for me.

  • ? Sparkle?:

The smart people will. The ignorant ones will stay stuck in their ways.

  • Jamn:

Even so, Democrats never win any states in the south anyways

  • Thomas:

    without a doubt!!

  • Sophie P:

I think some will not, especially older Americans. However, most will. Race will not cost Obama the election. He will win.

  • Valerie B:

Ask the 98% of blacks voting for Obama.

I’m not voting for Obama because I dont agree with him on the issues. I’m a fiscal conservative and I dont fall for all talk all the time.

  • Marina:

I think the race card has been worn out. People will not choose Obama for other reasons.

  • lliwbelac:

I hope so. I hope people don’t make surface jugdments on how they vote. However, what about all those who are voting for him simply because he is black?

I hope they actual look at the records of both candidates before they vote.

We are where we are today because too many subprime mortgages were given out. These mortgages are the kind that are given to those who have bad credit and/or are at risk at not affording the mortgage. We now see that many, many people on these mortgages can’t pay them off. This type of mortgage was first put in place under Carter and then Clinton expanded it. It ended up to where banks had to give out these high risk mortgages or they would get penalized and even sued.

Barak Obama even sued Citibank because they would not give out subprime mortgages. He sued because he said they were being ******. However, who wouldn’t a bank want your money if they knew you could pay back the loan? Are there really that many ****** loan officers out there?

Fannie Mae was the largest financial institute to deal in these subprime mortgages. Fannie Mae gave more to Barak Obama and Dodd (Dem congressman) than anyone else. Several of Obama’s top advisors worked for Fannie Mae.

In the past couple years, two politicians have tried to put a stop to the amount of subprime loans given out by regulation. The names of the guys who tried to regulate these loans should be familiar. One is George Bush and the other is John McCain. Both of their bills were blocked by democrates in congress.

The democrates wanted more people to be able to afford purchasing a house so they made banks lower their standards for mortgages. Now we have a ton of people defaulting on loans. Bush and McCain both tried to stop this and regulate it more.

  • DynaFlowHum:

Obama is 6% black and the rest white and arab. I see no race issue here.

  • obamanextpres:

Yes. But I also think that he is underestimated. He is now leading in men, women, and the older generation as well as younger. When you look at the polls, and then the grass movements effort, I think he may actually win by a few points.

  • Go Ahead and Delete Me:

Most people who vote for either candidate will be doing so on criteria other than race.

  • Mr. Know It All:

Apparently 25% of Democrats will not put race aside.

  • bmoc2525:

You’ll never sway those who vote on the issue of color. That goes for both sides.

Small minded yes but still their right to do so.

  • Mr.bea:

You must mean religion. We don’t want a muslim president.

  • Bond B:

Americans will choose based on emotions, not by logistical referendums.

  • Answers202:

Yes, but give us a worthwhile candidate, not a candidate that is not worthy of the job. How about Colin Powell, Condi Rice or JC Watts? How about Jindahl in a few years? But definitely not Obama.

Law makers in Congress, who are devising the bill for our financial bailout, have earmarked money to go to Acorn. Acorn is an organization that is associated strongly with the Democrats. They are accused of fradulent voter registration and this is not the first time. Apparently, they have done this in past elections. Obama used to be one of their lawyers and that is a fact. This is a massive organization, containing multiple spin off companies. The trail of fraud leads back to their smaller companies. The problem with the bill that they are working on is that the Dems want to leave mega money that is earmarked for this organization in our financial bailout bill. Does that seem fair? Why should we have to pay more money in taxes, only to have them give it to this organization, especially since they are at the root of this massive lending that was done to the poor people? I believe in helping the people, not this organization. Our children and their children are going to be paying higher taxes for years, because of earmarks, like this one, in that bill. This amd [pork belly spending what McCain wants to hold our Congress accountable on. Together he and Palin are committed to rid Washington of this wasteful spending. Obama received just less than 900,000 in pork bellies from Congress for Chicago during the first two years that he was in the US Senate. He didn’t ask for any last year, perhaps because he did not want to add that to his tracking record. By the way, Obama received a huge amount of paybacks from Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, two of the lending companies that are in financial ruin. The good news is that one Senator, Senator Dodd, received more than him. Obama came in secondm receiving 40,000 less than Dodd.

No, Obama only cares about himself first, followed by the globe, not America. Notice how he is campaigning, while McCain is back in Washington doing the job that he is being paid to do. McCain said it well when he remarked last night that the moment Obama got a new job, he was busily looking for the next job. I firmly believe that next job is Leader of the World.

  • Sara:

I agree. There are a lot of people out there who see Obama’s race as a problem. I support neither Obama or McCain, but I still hope that Obama’s race isn’t a factor because it shouldn’t be.

  • PB&J:

Most people will be able to.

The issue of race has been worn out.

  • razor:

No, I’m afraid not, He’s going to win but many will not vote for him because he’s black just like many will not vote for a woman named Palin or Ferraro or a Jew named Lieberman

  • Marmar:

you know its NOT just white people saying “i dont want a black president.”
its also black. they are voting for him because hes black. if you disagree, WOW you gotta open your eyes. and dont be afraid to agree with me because blacck people can say they **** white people. i dont give a **** what they think of white people.

OH! what about age?!! cant we set aside AGE too??!!!

  • bloodbath:

    A significant number will not.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE MEEEEEE!!!!:

The older generation is racist, especially in the south. The new generation in the north aren’t.

  • The Ideot:

if obama wins he will get shot by those racist

  • Angel SA:

I believe also that the majority of the American people will, but we still got a few white folks that don’t know when to give it up. We are all human beings in this one world we live in.

    THANK YOU JESUS! AMEN! SHALOM!

  • Schan:

Sure people are going to hold his race against him (everyone’s a little bit ****** in some way even if it is unconsciously)

But there’s plenty of people who are going to vote for him BECAUSE of his race.

It’s going to balance out for him so I say he’s got it pretty fair o.o

  • cutepup:

Race does not exist to me.

  • Jason M:

regardless of why I choose to not vote for Sen Obama, I will always be labeled a ******. Its easy to point fingers at others and say these things. Will some just be ****** Im sure they will just as some will vote blindly for him based on race. Shame on both of them. And shame on anyone who uses race as an excuse as to why someone may or may not get elected

  • beth l:

I thought so. Living in TX I know some very ****** ppl. BUT as bad as the economy is going I am starting to believe that he will be the next president.

I am also undecided also and last night really didn’t help me much.

  • Joe G:

No, but it will make for a nice excuse if Obama looses.

  • Derek O:

Some moron above said that Obama is a muslim.

Anyway, there’s a lot of bigoted people in this country that won’t put it aside, but I think the majority of Americans don’t think like that anymore.

  • Josh:

Honestly, some people will (and do) hold race against him. I do not hold it against him in any way and people who do are just being ridiculous. Still there are other things I find offensive in him. While he is a decent speaker, charismatic, and sure makes it look good reaching down to the ‘average American’, this is not what is required to be President.

His belief in more government control worries me. His insisting on taking more money from the rich concerns me. His vague answers trouble me. His manners offend me (making fun of people). His record frightens me. His promises stump me.

Many people have been caught up by him, his powerful speeches, his charming words, his flashing smile, his promises of better life. Still, I believe this is all a fake front for who he really is and wants he really wants to do.

  • Tiberius:

I’m not going to vote for someone Just because he or she is Black. I’m black, but McCain and Governor Palin are going to get my vote. Sorry but he Just does not share my political views. Obama is a socialists liberal that is one reason why I’m not voting for him. The other reason is, he does not have the executive experience to lead this Great Nation of ours.

There are millions of my fellow black brothers and sisters who are simply voting for Obama because he is black and I think that is ******. The same goes for some white Democrats who will not vote for him because he is black.
