last will and testament
Reika GSD asked:

First let me state that this is a hypothetical question.

Now, lets say a friend or relative leaves their dog to you in their last will and testament without your consent.

If something should happen to that friend or relative, would you feel obligated to take that dog, even if it might not fit your current lifestyle?

I’ll provide an example, but please do not base your answer solely on this example.

Lets say a woman owns an adult Siberian Husky. The dog is typical of his breed. He howls simply for the joy of it. He is somewhat stubborn and at times, has selective hearing. He needs to be exercised on a daily basis. The owner is active and is always hiking and camping. The dog always runs alongside his owner’s bicycle and hikes with her, often carrying a backpack filled with his owner’s gear. Something happens to this dog’s owner and he is left to a friend.

The friend currently lives in an apartment in the city. Her favorite hobby is shopping at the local mall. She owns an adult Golden Retriever who she takes to the dog park every once in awhile. Other than that, the dog has three short walks daily to relieve himself.

The friend feels obligated to take the dog, even if it might not be the best situation for that dog. After all, the original owner spcifically stated that the dog be left in her care….

If a dog was left to you that did not suit your lifestyle, would you feel obligated to keep the dog…or would you place the dog in a different home?

last will and testament
doggy luver asked:

it may be slightly morbid to think about, but we aren’t promised today, much less tomorrow.

have you left instructions on what to do with your dogs upon your death? Are they verbal or are they part of your last will and testament? what are they (if you don’t mind sharing, you don’t have to)?

I know this is a gruesome subject, but we are all mortals.

legit, if needed:
what is your favorite dog sport?
