My friend’s mother died recently. My friend has taken care of her mother for 15 years. She has a sister who did nothing to help out. As a result, the mother left her house in the will to my friend and now the sister has a lawyer to contest the will.

There are medical doctors, hospice nurses and family friends who will testify that my friend’s mother was fully mentally capable of making the decisions regarding the will. They will also testify that sister was nasty and hateful to her mother, and did nothing to help care for her.

My question is, what are the outcomes of the typical cases in which wills are contested? If wills are easily overturned after one’s death, then why bother making one?

So that basically means that the authorit of “GOD” still outweighs the authority of Jesus… who were remarkably different creatures in their approach to religious dogma.

How do “loving, open-minded” Christians feel about their religion being hijacked by the fundamentalist authority figures that wish to see us back in the caverns of Old Testament Oppression and denial of secularism?

I don’t think I should need to get a lawyer involved as I’m single and without children. Being that I’m in my 20′s I haven’t earned a big fortune yet.

I simply want to point out what to do with my remains and want to have some authority over my obituary (specifically, I don’t want one in the paper at all).

Advice would be great. Thanks.
The one concern I have is that some judge or authority figure might dispute the will, saying it was created without sound mind and judgement.
