last will and testament
Kittly asked:

My dearly beloved cat, Blackened, passed away on October 17th, 2008. I’ve painted a portrait of him on a small wooden box along with his nickname of Blackie. Inside this “Funeral Box” I’ve placed some pictures of him. I have a small cat plushie that looks like him as well, but it doesn’t fit in the box. Even so, I curl up, snuggle it, and cry while I flick through the pictures. I am working on writing a “last will and testament” type thing that I can read to look back on to remember that he lived a happy life.

So, alng with these things, what else should I put in Blackie’s memory box?

If you’re going to answer calling me emo, or saying I’m too attached to him, then don’t bother wasting your time. This cat lived to be older than I am right now, and was like an older brother to me.

Final Exam Study Guide Religion of the Old Testament

Your exam will begin with a 10 question post-test, covering what I hope
You have learned over the past semester. The majority of the exam will
Cover what we have studied since the last test.

God’s speeches in Job
Job’s 3 friends (especially their belief that Job must have sinned)
The Satan

Second Temple Period (see handout):
Rebuilding temple
Ezra/Nehemiah

Maccabees and Hanukkah

know that there are differences between the LXX and MT.

Discussion: Discuss the way in which the book of Daniel addresses the
issue of living faithfully in a Gentile world. Why would this issue
have been so significant for the historical situation during which
Daniel was written? Be sure to include both the court narratives (1-6)
and the apocalyptic section (7-12) in your discussion. (A full answer
will include information about the historical period in which Daniel was
written and at least one example from each section of the book of Daniel
itself.)

Extra Credit: List the 39 books of the Old Testament in their
traditional Protestant order.* Full credit will be 10 points; I do give
partial credit, about 1/4 of a point each.
*If you prefer to use a different traditional listing, you must let me
know! You cannot just make up your own order.

Post-test Review: “testament” (what does it mean?); Passover,
Documentary Hypothesis (JEPD), language of the Old Testament, Hagar,
historical situation of the book of Judges, Davidic Covenant, Isaiah,
ethical monotheism, Babylonian exile, messiah
even a few good definitions will help, or study ideas for remember the 39 books in order

Hindi Sad Diamonds asked:

Are the any legal ways I can appeal against my late aunt’s decision to name a boyfriend, namely a total stranger to the family, as the only person that benefits from her Last Will? He gets everything she possessed – the estates and the money.

How can I reverse the decision? I’m not thinking about hiring a lawyer just yet, I’m only conducting research until I familiarize myself with the case.

Any help appreciated! Thank you.
I have money and am well-off. My aunt’s only son died four years ago, she has no husband. This makes me a direct benefactor.

Her lover is in his twenties. He met her five weeks ago and practically moved in with her until she died of brain aneurysm. I have come across this information just recently. I never spoke to this man directly. He avoids any contact with my family.

How can I make him approach us when he refuses phone calls?

FROGMAN asked:

My ailing father is dying of cancer ! We had recently had a falling out over something that happened when I was only 13 years old. He claims that I tossed a gallon of paint inside his restored 1929 Chevy. The funny thing is that at 50 years old now. I never new he thought I did that ! Our entire family was out for the day at my grandparents farm and dad discovered it that night when we all came home ! He called me up 2 years ago out of the blue and said because of that incident he had removed me from his will ! I have 3 other siblings and I was wondering if he can really do that ? My concern is that he is a prominent attorney and has some very large holdings and is a millionaire at 10 times over. Am I going to be out of any inheritance ? Especially after such a trivial lack of memory in the case of the paint in the jalopy ?
I was with my dad at his parents house the day it happened over 100 miles away ! I couldn’t have possibly done it !

My mother in law just passed away a couple weeks ago. My wife is the executor of the will, and she also got the house left to her. We are wondering what we are suppose to do now to get the house in my wife’s name name? If anyone has ever been through this or knows what we are suppose to do that would be great. We are trying not to hire an attorney.
wizjp- I agree totally, it’s just my wife is against it. So I am not sure if I can talk her into it. I would have done that from the beginning

Our Dad was just like yours. He loved all of his children.I can not and will not believe he left us out.I had talked about this with my half brother who is an alcoholic. He said Dad left everything to him and my half sister but left my sisters a little something.I don’t want to sound petty about this.If he did leave me anything I would sign it over to my stepmother but I would like to know. There is much much more to this than I can tell here.Thank you for any information you can share. I’am age 72. also My Stepmother and I are very close.I **** to think she would lie to me.

Lee asked:

I’m 15 years old. My Mother died 2 weeks ago, i have no biological parents remaining I literally watched my Mother take her last breath. My step father works in Iraq and only comes home 3 times a year and has shown no attempt to take care of my brother and I. In my Mothers last will and testament she stated that my sister was to get guardianship over me and my older brother got guardianship over my other brother who is 16. The day of my Mother’s death i was forced to leave my house and move into my sisters. Now it is as if I have no solid ground to stand on. I didn’t want to leave and i still want to go home. My older sister and older brothers say that my Step Dad has no say over me anymore, they says that if he did he would dictate over us but unfortunately they are the ones dictating my brother and I. I can barley see my friends anymore and my sister is keeping me from getting a boyfriend, see I’m *** and my sister keeps me away from other gays… Anyways I’m going to runaway within the next few days, just got to wait until the time is right. So what should i bring? Where can i go?

Depoetic asked:

I always love stories about Christmas – and was hoping you’d share some!

The song, The Twelve Days of Christmas, is an allegory. Here is what the 12 Days of Christmas means.

1. A partridge in a pear tree signifies the crucifixion of Jesus.
2. Two turtle doves represent the Old and New Testaments.
3. Three French hens represent the things that will last: faith, hope and charity. (love)
4. Four gospels sing the song of salvation, referenced by the calling birds.
5. Five golden rings are the original books of the Bible given to Moses.
6. Six geese a-laying symbolize the six days of creation.
7. Seven swans stand for the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit.
8. Eight maids a-milking are actually the eight beatitudes from the Bible.
9. Nine fruits of the Holy Spirit (from Galatians 5) are dancing ladies.
10. Ten lords a-leaping are the Ten Commandments
11. Eleven Pipers Piping represent Jesus’ faithful disciples.
12. Finally, 12 drummers drumming are actually the Apostles Creed
The song, The Twelve Days of Christmas, was written 400 years ago by Catholics who were told by the Church of England they couldn’t express their religious beliefs. Fearful that the children might forget the important symbols…an allegory was written.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Apostle’s Creed – it goes like this:

The Apostle’s Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin, Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into Hades; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

(BTW – Does anyone know a scripture reference on Christ spending time in Hades?)
Thank you all for the detractions – it just reminds us that what is past is past – and we can NOW choose to use the symbols to remind us of our beloved Christ, and a way to wittness for Jesus – even if “Snopes” debunks the origins.
Peace!
Isaiah 43:18-19 But the LORD says, “Do not cling to events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago. Watch for the new thing I am going to do. It is happening already—you can see it now! I will make a road through the wilderness and give you streams of water there.

Isaiah 65:17 The LORD says, “I am making a new earth and new heavens. The events of the past will be completely forgotten.

Acts 10:13-15 A voice said to him, “Get up, Peter; kill and eat!” But Peter said, “Certainly not, Lord! I have never eaten anything ritually unclean or defiled.”The voice spoke to him again, “Do not consider anything unclean that God has declared clean.”

2nd Corinthians 5:17 Anyone who is joined to Christ is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come.

Revelations 21:5 Then the one who sits on the throne said, “And now I make all things new!” He also said to me, “Write this, because these words are true and can be trusted.”
It is amazing that so many are convinced that once something happens – it retains it’s stain without the ability of transformation by Jesus Christ. That is the beauty of our God’s precious gift of Salvation. Titus 3:5 He saved us. It was not because of any good deeds that we ourselves had done, but because of his own mercy that he saved us, through the Holy Spirit, who gives us new birth and new life by washing us.

Just like an abandonned child whose Birthdate is unknown to the adoptive parents – We are adopted into the family of God, and are made new.

To change the meanings celebrated by the society around the early Christians – society’s ‘Pagan’ holy days were overtaken and made new. The opponants to Christianity in society tries to do the same in our society today.

Forget the origins – remember the symbols as made new in Christ. God takes the unworthy and makes them clean!

Peace.

xdeathbyconformityx asked:

This is the prologue for something new I’m writing. Just curious to know what you think of it, ideas and suggestions are always interesting. Mainly I’m just wondering if this intro would make a reader want to know more, or if it is too cut and dry to really hold attention. Thanks.

Deadman’s diary: prologue-

This is my last entry. My will and testament I suppose, guess I never really figured that I would compose it sitting under some east end sewer grate, stinking of excrement and lying in a growing puddle of my own blood, but then I guess we take what life gives us. Besides, I’m here anyway, may as well make the best of it.

To my beloved, overcrowded, rat infested city I leave fire and brimstone. Maybe we’ll call it an act of charity (more likely they’ll just call it arson, but I’m not exactly in the position to argue semantics.) In the end it doesn’t matter anyway, whatever transpires above me tonight will be gone by morning. Couriers will run hot press releases to every corner of the city, headlines with blaze with investigations and intrigue, and every coffee shop from here to Saint Helier will be filled with early goers chatting about crime and punishment, and making timeless comments on how insane the world has become. By the time the evening news tunes in, they will be honoring all the heroes that stepped in when the city needed them most, from the dispatchers coordinating emergency calls, to the police scouring the city for suspects, to those brave firefighters fearlessly climbing burning buildings in search of survivors. It will be a night filled with rewards, promotions, and commendations. By noon tomorrow the federal borough of investigation will be filling the phone lines with talk of disappearing crime bosses all over the city. The night will be full of smiles and company dinners. Tick-Tock, the world goes on.

Enough talk of heroes though, the pages you are about to read aren’t about any sort of heroes. They aren’t filled with talk of helping your fellow man and saving the human race, besides, who in their right fucking mind really wants to save us anyway? Any sad ******* can see that humans aren’t good for much more than breeding and tearing apart any beautiful thing they can get their hands on. If we ever really needed proof all we have to do is look at our own little slice of heaven here, full of cutthroats and animals, all the way from 183rd St. to Wall Street. Everyone’s so sure they are going to get to the top that they cut and burn anything in their path, until one day they end up bleeding to death in the damn sewer.

So here it is in all it’s raw form, the first and last book that trash like us will ever write, the raw, uncensored story of the last two months in the life of a burned out career criminal, two street urchins, and a cold blooded killer. It’s not pretty, and it’s not heroic, but It’s our lives, whether we wanted them or not.
