The process of NT canonization took place between the 2nd and 4th centuries. The early church used the 4 principles of; authorship, nature of text, universality and inspirational character to decide what went in and what was left out to finally produce 27 “books” that somewhat loosely fit together to create a big story.

So why is such emphasis placed by some on the final products Inerrability when it was compiled by a committee?

RW- As far as a muslim is concerned, Muhammad was very much a human being and not an angel, so sin and mistakes would have been committed and Almighty God is the greatest in weighing his deeds.
Muhammad is a messenger of Allah and not a ‘saint’ in Islam. There were wordly matters not known to him that he learnt from his fellow men and which Allah even approved of. (Like the pollination of the female date flowers by hitting them with the male flowers).
This does not cast him away from the fact that he was as Le Martin or G.B.Shaw etc described.

Linda – We do not negate the Bible as completely false because it definitely may contain the preachings of the times of our prophet Jesus (PBUH) that were in the ‘Injeel’, but when Allah has said that He is revealing to us the latest edition of those books that were released earlier namely the ‘Torah’, the ‘Injeel’(book of Jesus) etc through the last and final prophet-Muhammad(PBUH) then there is no point in us again refering back to the older books, But we do believe in Jesus, Moses and all other Prophets and their original books too. Unfortunately none of them exists in their original form and we are left with the Qur’an to contain the whole truth.
I would like to draw your focus to the 3 criteria of a human genious:
Greatness of purpose: To spread the word of God!

To understand the context under which Muhammad had wives and slave girls is easy if we can go back in history.
In those days slavery was not looked on as dastardly as we do today. On the contrary, it was a very arrogant and cruel slavery and Muhammad taught to treat slaves with kindness and if you could open your hearts as much, then to free the slaves. Similarly *** was so out of bounds. Muhammad brought in a binding to that.

For example, let’s say they’ve been another religion their whole lives but on their deathbeds in their final couple days they accept Jesus. In that case, if they’re interested in the bible, would you rather have them start reading the Old Testament or the New Testament?

Personally, I’m thinking New Testament because if they’re in their final days it is best to learn the words of Jesus rather than the history of the canon. What do you think?

Or for ages and ages?

The only prophets Muslims seem to venerate are the ones from olden times….they do not believe there has even been a prophet since Mohammed. So much for their respect for prophets.
