How could Paul have taught scripture alone in a world without the New Testament?

Bruce asked: Our Protestant friends often cite Paul’s reminder to Timothy that scripture is profitable (2 Timothy 3:16), which all Christians recognize. But can you explain why he would tell Timothy that scripture as it then existed, the Old Testament, was all we need to know God’s revelation?Royce Baradi
